We’ve all experienced the pain and damage of a sun burn. It doesn’t matter how many times the media explains the risks and the need for UV coverage, a substantial number of people turn a deaf ear and head out into the hot afternoon sun. The result is seriously sun damaged skin and in severe cases even skin cancer. That bronze glow that tanning achieves is short lived. After several years of that kind of abuse the skin becomes leathery and can break out in brown spots. When the sun has virtually sucked your skin dry, no amounts of moisturizer in the world will be able to reverse the effect.

There are many different options available both through prescription and drugstore purchase. These are typically creams and lotions that claim to thicken the skin to rejuvenate a youthful glow. Studies have proven some of these products to work relatively well over time. It’s a low cost alternative to some therapies but will probably work better on those with minor sun damage as opposed to those with extreme cases. Some may opt for other alternatives such as chemical peels which has been known to have both positive and negative outcomes for patients. Now that laser is an option more sun loving folks have yet another method for fighting the harsh effects of the sun’s rays.

The use of a laser on sun damaged skin is a nice option because it causes less damage during and after the process than some methods. Less damage means much faster healing and in this chaotic world of work and bills, nobody has time to wait around to recover. Over the years since the use of lasers has grown and advanced, different types of lasers have come into play. If this is of importance to you then don’t hesitate to ask for an explanation from your practitioner or dermatologist. They can explain the differences between each one and how they work.

The treatments are not cheap and will run hundreds, potentially thousands of dollars depending on how damaged the skin is and how much of it needs to be attended to. Very minor cases of sun damage may need as little as one fifteen minute treatment. That isn’t likely for most patients though. Regular tanning or working outdoors can really add up over the years. Unfortunately in many cases insurance companies will not cover laser surgery because it is considered cosmetic. Before you assume though take a moment to consult with your insurance broker and see if you have any options.

There are many benefits to using laser therapy to treat damage caused by the harsh sun. Minimal recovery time allows you to keep working and going about your daily life. It’s wise to speak with your dermatologist about skin health and the preventative measures that can be taken to avoid sun damage. It’s never too late to start taking better care of your precious skin. Get informed and always be aware of the options available to you in regards to all forms of skin treatments.

Before you undergo any cosmetic laser treatment, educate yourself with the facts. We provide important consumer information that will help you make the best possible decision.

If you need information about malignant mesothelioma cancer, you might find it difficult to get the right information written in a simple way. Everybody has listened the word mesothelioma at least once, but very few people know what this rare type of cancer really is. Through of a series of articles about this subject, you will know and learn rapidly about this cancer disease that affects either, men or women at any age without any kind of distinction. Lets review some basic concepts and what this disease exactly is.

The cancer of the mesothelium appears when the cells of the membrane that forms the lining of several internal organs within the different body cavities, the pleura in the thoracal cavity, the peritoneum in the abdominal cavity and the pericardium in the heart sac, become abnormal or ‘malignant’ and divide neither with control nor order.

The mesothelium is composed by two layers of cells, which produce a fluid that enable the expanding and contracting movements of organs, such as the heart beating and the corresponding lungs movements.

Although most Mesothelioma cases start in the pleura or peritoneum, the problem increases when these cancerous cells can damage nearby tissues and organs or even metastasize or spread to other parts of your body.

Despite that the Mesothelioma cancer rate has increased over the past 20 years, this disease is not as common as other types of cancer pathology. The number of new diagnosed cases in the United States rises up to 2,000 per year.

However there are other symptoms of Peritoneal Mesothelioma, those may include weight loss, abdominal pain and swelling, this is due to an accumulation of fluid in the abdominal cavity.

Peritoneal mesothelioma may include other uncomfortable symptoms too, such as bowel obstruction, blood clotting abnormalities, anemia and fever. However these symptoms can appear before if malignant cancerous cells have spread beyond the mesothelium to other parts of the body, and other symptoms such as trouble swallowing, pain, and swelling of the neck or face may appear.

Mesothelioma or other less serious conditions may caused these symptoms, therefore the importance of going to a doctor if you feel any of these symptoms, because only an expert like him can make a correct diagnosis.

Mesothelioma cancer rate has increased over the past 20 years and although this disease is not as common as other cancer pathologies, the number of new diagnosed cases in the United States has risen up to 2,000 per year.

According to experts the major risk factor for developing Mesothelioma lies in working with asbestos, so if you are a asbestos worker remember following the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommendations in order to reduce your risk.

In our next article we are going to analyze the different aspects of “Mesothelioma Diagnosis”.

Mesothelioma cancer is currently treated through three treatments, depending on the cancer location, the disease stage, and the patient's general health and age.

Mesothelioma cancer is currently treated through three treatments, depending on the cancer location, the disease stage, and the patient’s general health and age. These treatments are surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy, which sometimes are combined to fight the disease in so far as possible.

In a surgery, one of the most common treatments for mesothelioma, the doctor removes part of the lining of the abdomen or the chest and some tissue around it. In a pneumonectomy, the doctor may also remove one lung when the patient has pleural mesothelioma or cancer of the pleura. In other surgical procedure, the doctor may also remove part of the diaphragm, the muscle below the lungs that helps with breathing. Through these procedures, the medical specialist shall try to excise tumourous tissue arising from this cancer disease. As these operations will reduce the patient’s respiratory capacity, the surgeon will evaluate the patient’s ability to function after a lung tissue removal, before performing a pneumonectomy.

Another method to fight Mesothelioma is chemotherapy or the use of anticancer drugs to kill cancer cells throughout the body. These drugs are given to the patient by an intravenous procedure, an injection into a vein. Currently, experts are studying the effectiveness of intracavitary chemotherapy or the possibility of giving chemotherapy straight to the chest or abdomen.

Radiotherapy or radiation therapy is the use of high-energy rays to destroy malignant cells and shrink tumors. It is important to know that this medical procedure attacks the cancer cells only in the treated area. There are two ways of giving this therapy. One, external radiation, in which the radiation comes from a machine, and other, internal radiation, where the cancer cells are found after putting materials that produce radiation into the affected area.

Doctor’s way to relieve patient’s pain is to use a needle or a thin tube to drain fluid that has built up in the abdominal or chest cavities through a procedure called thoracentesis. When it is from the chest, and paracentesis, when the removal is from the abdomen. The specialists may also give the drugs through a tube in the chest to prevent the accumulation of more liquid.

Lung cancer occurs when cancerous cells develop in the lung’s tissue. It is the most common fatal cancer among men and women, and it is the number one killer in the world. Lung cancer has the highest mortality rate out of all the cancers combined. People with risk factors for developing the disease should have regular checkups to determine if they are cancer free.

Family history of the disease can be a warning sign that lung cancer may run in your family and that you should be checked more often. Some risk factors for lung cancer can also include age, sex, or race and are called non-modifiable factors because the person can’t change them. Some lesser-known symptoms to watch out for include:

?Shoulder or upper back pain caused by a tumor pressing into the lung lining

?Swelling of the face and neck caused by change in circulation brought on by the tumor

?Having frequent bouts of pneumonia or other lung infections

When tumors press against blood vessels, the fluids cannot travel as well through the body, and these fluids build up in the neck and face and often times the hands and feet as well. Having frequent periods of lung infections or pneumonia can also be a sign of lung cancer as the cells of the tumor trap and hold bacteria.

There are two types of lung cancer - Non-small cell and small cell. Non-small cell cancer is usually associated with people who smoke and is the most common form of diagnosed cancer. Small cell lung cancer - or oat cancer - is rarer, but is also caused by smoking. Non-small cancer is more common and spreads much slower than small cell cancer. Three main types of this cancer are named for the cells where they tend to develop. These are Squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, and large cell carcinoma. Small cell lung cancer tends to grow and spread much more quickly than non-small cancer and can quickly spread to other areas of the body. Both types of cancers react to treatments in different ways.

Some substances that can cause lung cancer are familiar to you while others may come as a surprise. Cigarette smoking is one of the causes. How often have you heard that over the years? It is far more likely that someone who smokes will develop lung cancer than someone who doesn’t smoke. The age at which the person began smoking, and the length of time they’ve been smoking are also factors in the development of the disease. Even people who don’t smoke themselves can be exposed to the second-hand smoke and develop lung cancer over time. Some other substances that can cause lung cancer include Radon exposure and Asbestos exposure.

It’s very important to follow up with your doctor if you suspect that you may have some symptoms. The sooner the disease is discovered and treatment is begun, the sooner you’ll be well again. Regular checkups can make sure that any cancer is caught in the early stages and can be treated quickly and effectively with a variety of treatments. Physical exams, x-rays, and blood or urine tests may be required to check thoroughly.

Breast cancer is a devastating experience for any women to go through.

My breast cancer was the reason for causing my life to be out of balance on the physical level.

It is amazing how these four elements co-mingle and if we lack in one aspect, it immediately reflects on our lives in a form of disharmony that can appear as a form of disease or even mastectomy as a result of breast cancer that changes the whole picture.

Picture this: Close your eyes for a moment and Imagine that you are standing on a center of a table with four steady legs. You feel comfortable. You feel safe. You can even spread your legs to two corners of the table and you are still in control and feel you can keep your balance.

Now, close your eyes again and imagine yourselves standing on a center of a table. However, this table has one broken or crocked leg. How do you feel now standing on that table? Do you feel safe and steady? Do you feel out of balance? Does fear goes through your mind that you might fall, that you would not be able to keep your balance on that table much longer?

What happen to us when one of these aspects (physical, mental, emotional and spiritual) of our life is in disharmony with the rest of the elements? We feel shaky, unstable, out of balance, living in fear of the unknown.

What causes these out of balance situations and illness in our lives? The answer to this question is simple and consists of only one word: stress.

Even the modern medicine recognizes the fact that stress is the biggest factor in all diseases.

What are the causes for stress?

It comes from the way we perceive life, from our core being. It comes from the attitude that we embrace to react to every event that occurs in our life.

How do we find the balance, so we can live in harmony with all aspect of our life?

We have to be very honest with ourselves and be able to look deep down inside our “divine self” and be able to change our perception on life.

When I had my breast cancer it totally changed my set of beliefs and my attitude towards life.

Channeling the energy to other elements of life that were not functioning the way they were supposed to and gain the balance back.

To your good Health and Wealth!
